In January 2010 I went back home to Athens for the last time, after which my parents moved to Italy. I went back to draw the city with a different eye, trying to observe it as a 'tourist' and not as a resident. I looked at all the things that usually caused me frustration: the loud traffic, the illegal parking, the angry faces on old athenian women. This time, however, I recorded the information with a sense of nostalgia and melancholy. The drawings I produced were used for my graduation film 'My Mother's Coat', directly animated on the lightbox from the sketchbooks.
